Individuals begin the painting of the Kansas Women's Mural on Sunday in central Topeka. The mural is the eighth on the Great Mural Wall of Topeka, a project that goes over 500 feet of a 900-foot white wall. Topeka native and local artist Ashley Laird — along with her artists Catherine Hart and Dave Loewenstein and more than 100 community volunteers — began work on the eighth installment to the giant wall in the Chesney Park neighborhood.
